Guinness Beer Bread
This is super easy and super good with chili or cheesy
artichoke dip!
Ingredients:
One bottle Guinness beer
3 cups self-rising flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup molasses (I like full flavor molasses)
1/8 teaspoon salt
Lots of butter! (Real butter, not margarine)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter up a 9x5 loaf pan.
Don’t be stingy with the butter.
Whisk together the flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl.
Pour in about half the beer and stir just to mix. Stir in
molasses. Stir in the rest of the beer. Don’t stir the batter too much, but do
try to get any lumps out.
Pour the batter into the loaf pan no more than 2/3 full.
Bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes or until a knife or toothpick inserted in the
middle comes out clean.
Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for just a
couple of minutes. Then add dabs of butter all over the top and let it melt
into the bread. Let bread cool completely before cutting.
